We got a deal on hotel and airfare so jetted off to Hawaii for a week. Stayed at the beautiful Sheraton Resort in the town of Kaanapali, northwest Maui.
Attended a Hawaiian Luau that was held at our hotel. I had been to a luau before but this one was a lot better.

Took a scenic drive along the Road to Hana. It is 68-miles round trip with over 600 sharp turns and 59 bridges; 46 which are one lane. A lot of driving, which Scott did, but well worth the excursion.
At the end of the Hana Highway is the "Seven Sacred Pools" which is a series of waterfalls and pools that flow into the ocean.
Took my first helicopter ride over West Maui and Molokai to see the tropical forests, sea cliffs and waterfalls. Truly spectacular!

Haleakala is a massive volcano that forms more than 75% of Maui. The elevation is 10,023 feet and the temperature at the very top is between 40F - 60F. The sunrise bike tour is the most popular attraction. You ride from the 6,500 foot level of Haleakala Crater downhill 28-miles.

After our Monterey trip we didn't think we would be lucky to see more whales but I guess we were!

We had an amazing breakfast at The Gazebo Restaurant north of our hotel. We didn't realize it was so well known till we saw the line outside this little restaurant. Their macadamia nut short stacks are out of this world! Definitely a place to go if you are in Maui.
